Finally our lead takes his place in front of the camera. We invited Zieg to be our main lead and he gladly accepted our invitation. The team managed to rent out costumes from Mediacorp Production Resource once again for our FYP filming. We rented 3 sets of uniforms (1 Japanese Military Officer and 2 soldiers)
While Wai Hoe, Isaac and Yew Seng were out to settle logistical issues (uniforms, gunny sacks), Shi Ting, Mitchell and Edwin began creating Japanese flags (both military and country) using white cloth, masking tape and a can of red spray paint. Mitchell and Shi Ting googled the net for images on the military flag. They then drew pencil lines to mark our the designs of the flag before using masking tapes to cover the parts that we do not intend to paint.

As usual, we've book the LOFT for our FYP shoot. We scheduled our shoot to take place from 14th - 24th Sept. There will be up to 7 scenes that we'll need to film. For our first scene, we mocked up a simple museum exhibit at the DOT. We are glad to have Jasney, Joyce and Sinee to assist us in this shoot. Jasney plays the tour guide while Joyce and Sinee plays the role of visitors to the museum.

A great start to the day for us!! We called up people whom we think are able to fill the shoes of the roles in our short film. We managed to secured almost all of them!! Especially the lead roles!! So far so good for pre-production. Let's hope it gets better as we go on!

Officially, we started our brainstorming on the amended storyline. While the brainstorming was ongoing, we also started to make repairs to our Arisakas and Nambu for the upcoming shoots. We gave the weapons a fresh coat of paint and slight touch ups.

Forest day today!! Best day so far of our trailer shoot. We went to Rifle Range Link (off Dunearn Road) to do the scene of many soldiers walking in the forest. Using the same uniform loaned from Mediacorp, Edwin suit up and played the roles of 7 soldiers in the scene. He had to enter the scene from a few points. These 7 different shots will be composited into one back in our "lab" later on.

22nd June 2009

Woohooo!!! production day!! the long awaited day finally arrives!! We went to Kismis field to film this scene of Lim Teck Huat. It was a super hot day!! The make up on Edwin (he was playing Teck Huat) took quite awhile to be done.. Mitchell was the make up artist of the day. Tho it was her first try to make someone look old, she did a pretty good job! Edwin does looks older a little.

We also had Wei Xin to play the role as Taro. He had to wear the Jap soldier costume that we managed to rent from Mediacorp.. It was such a hot day and the costume wasn't making the situation any better.. Many thanks to Wei Xin for his efforts (without complains!)
